Hey, I defend both---like people saying Kai's braids are the reason why he lost (you have seen my posts on that right), and I posted up Kai's interview. Personally, I think it could have gone either way.

It's just that people all of sudden want to throw either Kai under bus when he didn't deliver last yr and the yr before, or Phil, for having an emotional interview rift after he won.
We all remember Ronnie's "that's just one white man's opinion" comment as well as saying that in order for _____to beat him (I believe it was either Jay or Gunter) that they would have to be born with diff genetics...well Jay did beat him. And Dorian has said some things about Shawn (legs too short and stocky, and some other things)

All the great bbers have said some off the cuff stuff at times, either candidly in the magazines, or before or after a contest.
Least we forget, Flex, Shawn, and Kev were kings of trashtalking. What Phil said wasn't even close to what they would say.

Phil rightfully won.  As I said he needed to come in better than Phil at night.  While he came in better so did Phil. We still haven't seen the best of Kai conditioning wise. No doubt in my mind he can beat Phil.  He's done it many times before. At this point it's all about conditioning.

he seemed extremely angry in the post interview...

Honestly, I think this is "moral victory" for Kai, he was able to deliver on the day of the contest, when people had doubted he would be able to.

For Phil, this is a wake up call, people are gunning for you now, you are Mr. O, there is no Jay to be your guidance counselor, even he (if he comes back) will be gunning for you.
