Henderson, Nevada (CNN) – President Barack Obama took a break Monday from his debate prep for a thank-you stop at one of his local campaign offices.
While visiting the South Henderson Obama for America office, he sat down to make calls to several campaign workers to thank them for their work. When asked how he was enjoying his debate preparation time in Las Vegas, he responded, "Basically they're keeping me indoors all the time. It's a drag," he joked. "They're making me do my homework."
After a morning of practicing for Wednesday night's first presidential debate, Obama drove about 25 minutes from his hotel to the campaign office, located in a strip mall just outside Las Vegas. He delivered pizza to about 20 workers to thank them for their work on his re-election bid.
He reminded the volunteers that the election is only 36 days away and that Nevada is a critical to winning in November.
"One thing we've got control over is how hard we're working in the field," the president said. "What you guys are doing is more important than anything in this campaign."
