Peeling hard boiled eggs?
« on: October 03, 2012, 04:17:44 PM »
What is the best way? It usually takes me 7-8 minutes to peel them, and it's tedious. I hate it when the white gets stuck to the shell. I've seen the gizmos on TV that peel them instantly, but I'm sure it's not that easy. Anyway, what's the easiest way?

Run them under cold water when you do it.

I dump the water out of the pot and fill with cold water, then run them under the whole time. Is this just life as far as peeling eggs goes? :-\

Right on.  :D  Immediately after boiling, dump the water and run the eggs under cold water.  I exchange the water 4-5 times.  The shell practically slides off.  Peels just about as easily days after.

Cool them off quickly, then what I do (might not be the right way?) is smash the top and bottom with a few taps on the sink or dish.  Trying to kind of force pressure under the rest of the shell in doing so.  Peel in a line from one smashed part to the other, and you can peel the shell of in one big piece.

strange then.. i dunno! i just peeled three eggs in as many seconds. dunk in cold water for a minute or two, tap then peel. it helps if your fingers are wet i find, and get under that membrane too. that's the key!

Dont use fresh eggs, the older the better for boiling, not spoiled of course. The shell will come away from an older egg.
After boiling cool under water.
When ready to eat put them in a container covered and sheke them mildly, the shells will crack and some will fall off, best way I know of.
Been using this method for 30 yrs.
Hope this helps.

HEY RETARD!!!

Just trying to help.
Perhaps you prefer the "blowing" method because of your hobby of doing so.
Jerk-offs like you are the reason so many feel that only a simple minded/mentally impaired whana-be would be the type of person to lift weights in the first place. Are you the idiot that Planet Fitness based their commercial on???
How does it feel to be of no consequence like a little piece of lint????? Do tell, Jerk-off.
