While this is true, I think its OK to do this kind of training once in a while. I used to have one day every two weeks where I did olympic lifting (sometimes higher reps, which is what crossfit basically is. Except my training partner and I kept our form in check). I didn't overdo it and did it just for fun more than anything. There's nothing wrong with crossfit in small doses, but in practice these "coaches" fuck up regular people who have no business doing cleans and snatches with crappy form, just to hit a number, sometimes every day of the week!
