2000 Calories
« on: October 11, 2012, 04:26:57 PM »
I saw this sign on the train and had two thoughts:

(1) True for the general population but probably inadequate for most of the GetBig world (although I am cutting weight right now and actually AM taking in about 2,000 cals per day)

(2) Are all 2,000 calorie diets created alike? In my 2,000 calories for example I work in 250 grams of protein, 20 grams of fiber, healthy fats from nuts, avacado and fish, anti-oxidents and vitamins from fruit, not to mention two gallons of water per day.

i posted this recently... a calorie is the measure of energy required to raise the temperature of 1L of water by 1 degree C... in a bomb calorimeter a calorie is a calorie... but the processes of human digestion are FAR more complicated and truthfully are not fully understood by anyone...

I live low carb and eat about 3000 cal per day... every day... 50% from fat... and i'm still losing weight (about 2lbs per month)

Do you mean to say that the human digestive system is more complicated than F^CKING WATER?
That in physiological terms, the same volume of calories from different food sources yields a different net effect on the human body?
That a calorie is NOT just a calorie in the context of human consumption and metabolization?

You have no idea how close I've come to abusing my moderator super powers and nuking certain threads started by certain trolls here.
But, alas, I was bestowed these powers in good faith, and would never desecrate the position of Getbig moderator by deleting said threads.

Maybe I'll just do what Chaos does: modify the posts for correctness, add a few sprinkles of homoeroticism, and then lock the thread!

You`re right... and we also have to take into account that everyone of us is different.

My body tends to bloat very easy with carbs and I also find that I gain fat very easy with them when eating above maintenance calories. Not everyone has to go low carb but for me it works much better.

Most people don't train four times a week. They don't strive to look like their favorite bodybuilders or wrestlers.

Well here's what I ate yesterday.

Meal 1: 250g grilled chicken, 300g brown rice, salad/greens
Meal 2: 250g grilled chicken, 300g brown rice, salad/greens
Meal 3: 250g grilled chicken, 300g brown rice, salad/greens
Meal 4: 250g grilled chicken, 300g brown rice, salad/greens
Meal 5: ~200g beef squares bbq with sauce, french fries, salad with dressing and crispy chip like bread, humus+olive oil

Today so far:

Meal1: 250g grilled chicken, 300g brown rice, salad/greens
Snack: 4 peanutbutter sandwiches, 2 bananas

Will continue with meal2,3,4 same as above, then in evening during work out 4 egg whites, 2 peanutbutter table spoons, stewia, cup of almond milk, banana 70g oats, creatine, 20g bcaa bleded together (tastes nasty especially cuz of bcaa but im avoiding buying protein shakes and supplements as of late)

Oh yeah 2g fish oil with each meal. I also drink 3 cups of green tea. Pre workout I also drink about 200g caffeine and a buncha chemical crazyiness to stim me up.

I'm a machine  :o
