I thought ryan took a big hit on the afghan war thing.   He was mad the US had the afghans doing the fighting in the most dangerous areas.

He did a very solid job, i just thought biden looked more confident and really controlled the table.   You kinda had that feeling that if a fistfight erupted, the angry aggressive old man would beat up ryan - just as it looked in debate #1 that romney could kick the shit out of a timid obama.

it'll be called a tie, most likely.  But since Ryan is the smartest man in the GOP - "the" policy wonk - and Biden is the biggest idiot in the history of the dem party... a "tie" is a pretty good thing for the dems.

Spin, spin, spin!!!

face it, a stone cold half-drunk moron just "tied" the most brilliant mind in the GOP.

Ryan should have spanked him.  didn't happen.

I know, i know, suddenly "the GOP debate doesn't matter anyway" as it sinks in that the stone cold blubbering moron known as Biden came out of this one without a busted lip and black eye.

I didn't watch the whole thing, but my overall impressions are:

I think Biden did very well; he was aggressive and spoke well and didn't really let anything sneak past him; although I could have done with a little less joviality. Specific political positions aside, you have to give Joe Biden respect as a seasoned debater.

I think Paul Ryan did great; he had a couple of spots that I think he could have handled a bit better, but overall an impressive performance. the bit where he was asked for specifics and kept going back to pr-speak was painful, if only because it stood out against his otherwise excellent performance. He should have just said "I have 2 minutes; it's not nearly enough time to answer this. But I will make sure that the specifics are made available to you and the American people at our website by tomorrow morning."

The topics didn't matter.  There is a "real world," and it wasn't covered tonight.  Politics shouldn't be like rooting for your favorite football team

after debate #1,
many repubs were claiming victory
NO dems were claiming victory.

After debate #2,
many dems are claiming victory.
no repubs are claiming victory.

#1 was a blowout, but this one would probably go to biden if we had to pick.  I guess we'll see what the polls say.

This. Hard for Ryan to shine when they ignored the issues he's good at, which ironically are the issues that the country SHOULD be focusing on. Economy in the shorter? Who cares, let's talk about your religion or abortion.

Both lost.

If a stud like Ryan - the smartest man in the GOP - can't beat Biden - the biggest buffoon in the Dems -

That's just sad.  Biden getting embarassed was a foregone conclusion.

i'm not saying Ryan did a bad job.  He did a fine job.  But Biden did a better job.  Polls are starting to agree.

Getting a tie with a complete moron = A loss.

Ryan should have practiced debating at a local bar to get ready for Biden because that's where he lives.

How so? Ryan answered like he was supposed to. Would you rather he sat there laughing and interrupting like Biden?

FOX NEWS' CHRIS WALLACE: I've Never Seen A Candidate As Disrespectful As Joe Biden Was Tonight

Brett LoGiurato|23 minutes ago|989|11

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace hammered Vice President Joe Biden's excessive smiling and laughing during the debate, saying that he's never seen anyone be so disrespectful in a presidential or vice presidential debate.

And Wallace said that he'd seen most of them — all but the first four in 1960. He called his demeanor "unprecedented."

"I don't believe I've ever seen a debate in which one participant was as openly disrespectful of the other as Biden was to Paul Ryan tonight," Wallace said.

He added: It was openly contemptuous and disrespectful."

According to who? The article itself quotes SurveyUSA saying Cheney won. Do you read ANYTHING you post or talk about?

you skipped this one to copy the one you posted:

CBS News interviewed a nationally representative sample of 178 uncommitted debate-watchers. The sample was of voters who are either undecided about whom to vote for or who have a weak preference that could be changed. Of the group 41 percent said Edwards won the debate, 28 said Cheney won, and 31 percent thought it was a tie. Both uncommitted men and uncommitted women preferred Edwards.[14]

You're really referencing a poll with a sample size of 178? Get the fuck out of here, you fucking retard. ::)
