I think Dorian gave a big credit for his back development to these machines.

Oh yeah, I remember him using one in blood and guts I think. I don't have access to one of those old rusty things anymore but I have dreams about using it.

I think the best machine ever would have to be the leg press

I think you're right, but leg press isn't very mechanical (like the Smith Machine) so I exclude it from the machine category.

Don't know if you could class it as a machine, as it's also pretty non-mechanical but these things were the best for side delt raises - only machine (apart from the rampant rabbit) that has had me screaming in pain: Kind of like this one but much older and more basic

Best machine ever. Incredible lat pump. I remember I had access to one recently for one work out. I swear the next time I did chins I got two extra.

The Naut. pull over is one case where the machine is spectacularly better than the free weight version of the exercise.

Agreed, machine pullovers really hit the lats while taking the arms out of it. They're a good first exercise to get warmed up and going.

The press sucks but the lateral raise has no rivals. This is my vote for best machine ever

This is my vote for best machine ever Looks good, but I much prefer plate loaded machines - they just feel 'smoother' and there's no 'sticking points' either

Yes, best machine has to be the pullover. Hits the lats in the way they're supposed to be worked by forcing the arms down and back and taking forearms and grip strength completely out the equation.
Leg press and lateral raise machines are also up there too for honourable mentions and have helped develop me into the sexy beast I am today.
