It is amusing to me that some of you want bodybuilding to go "mainstream" whatever that is. Why do you want this to happen? Would it change your life in any meaningful way? Beauty pageants appear on network TV every year, but does anyone really respect the participants or fans? Is that the kind of mainstream acceptance you are craving? There are many "sports" out there... from ping pong, to bowling to tennis, to football. If you want to be in or patronize a mainstream sport go do it. Why are you wishing for this fringe activity (built on steroids and supported by schmoes) to become "legitimate"?  |

I dont care if bbing goes mainstream. However, I find it funny that all these idiots are passing judgment when 99% of them are probably overweight or bean poles. Granted, bodybuilder arent pretty to look at, but shit, most people arent.

I've seen bodybuilding contests where some participants attempted to match the depth of the tan on their faces to that on their bodies and it looks much stranger than having a comparatively pale face. Anyway, I doubt the muscles in one's face gain anyone points in the judges eyes. Likewise, if someone, no matter how well muscled, were to wear a thong style posing suit which displayed their glutes on a public beach, they'd look pretty silly.
