James Carville Explains Why He Is a Democrat
« on: October 17, 2012, 04:07:51 AM »
Amen Carville..... ;D

Despite his rabid pit bull demeanor, James Carville always seemed to have too sharp a mind to be a Democrat. The mystery is resolved, if this quote from ThinkExist.com is legit:

“Ideologies aren’t all that important. What’s important is psychology.

“The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows. All you have to do is lay out enough silage and they come running. That’s why I became an operative working with Democrats. With Democrats all you have to do is make a lot of noise, lay out the hay, and be ready to use the ole cattle prod in case a few want to bolt the herd.

“Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don’t have a clue as to political reality.

“What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their own personal convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want.

“The voter is basically dumb and lazy. The reason I became a Democratic operative instead of a Republican was because there were more Democrats that didn’t have a clue than there were Republicans.

“Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you’re smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That’s why I’m a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.”

Part of me can actually almost see Carville saying that, but I'm going to need an actual source on this.  No way you drop a bombshell like this without sourcing it buddy.  Even you know it's gotta be fucked up to post this without sourcing it.

ok, I searched a bit on this, can't find any proof he actually said this, just a bunch of quotes saying he did.

If anyone has any real proof he said this, please post it.  I sure in the hell can't find it.

The thing that gets me is that the quote comes through like something Carville said, that's his style of speech.  If this is a hoax, it was done by someone who thought it out.  But at the same time, there is no source for this at all that I can find so well....

It does sound like him.

I've been saying this for a while now -
Quote
Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you’re smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That’s why I’m a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.”

It cannot be objectively true that truth is relative. Self-defeating statement.

Bravo!

It's nice to see that you're putting the 36 credits you earned toward that elusive Women's Studies/ Philosophy B.A. to good use!

If certain posters had taken more philosophy classes they may have gotten better LSAT scores and thus gotten into better law schools, namely law schools at least in the top 50.

Of course it is. But I'm pretty sure you know what was meant, that people believe what they want to, and they key is making them believe your lie is truth.

the average republican and the average democrat think about the world differently, but they dont have differing levels of intelligence. average IQ is roughly the same between the parties.

Thanks for clearing that up. Is the Associated Press aware of this revelation?
