So the sign tells us the AMAZING proposition that not "supersizing" sodas and fries will.... drumroll please... result in the consumption of LESS calories (gasp).  Now that they are done insulting our intelligence, perhaps, just perhaps we should consider that the meal depicted even at 680 calories is loaded with saturated fat, carcinogens, refined flour and processed sugars.  Perhaps we might consider that with the exception of a health dose of protein, the meal as depicted contains almost no fiber or vitamins. no healthy fats, really nothing that is going to improve the quality of your life at all.

Ladies and gentlemen, dear representatives

I propose that we make pizza and french fries, I mean freedom fries, officially a national vegetable

Since this is no longer a democracy and I am just reading a script, all in favor say I, all in opposition say no. And the commitee strongly democratically has decided that two thirds of the votes has been a yes. Motion passed.

Pizza and french err freedom fries are officially a national vegetables

May seem easy enough to you but most general people have no idea about kcals or the caloric content of food items. If they did more to the point publicity like this, there would at least be somewhat less fat people around. Perhaps not much, but still.

I just think not supersizing your daily diet of McDonalds will not make you fit or healthy.  How about a poster that shows a chicken breast with some fresh onions and cilantro next to a Big Mac and the slogan: "Is the choosing meal on the right worth a stroke?"

Then you should eat the big mac since cholesterol is what causes the plaque in the arteries and there's more in a chicken breast than in a big mac.

I was curious about this claim so I poked around.  I will caution that much depends on the way the chicken breast is prepared. The article which I found comparing a Big Mac versus a Wendy's Chicken Breast seems to indicate the chicken breast is lower in cholesterol and saturated fat.

Just look up a standard 8 ounce chicken breast.

A wendy's chicken breast sandwich is not the same... The size is much smaller.

That's not what the scientific studies show.

While it's very difficult to determine exactly how it changes, it does change it.

You've got to give the prez some credit.  He hasn't been photographed with fried chicken.

Ok... and?

Are you trying to infer that in your research you have found nothing relating dietary and serum level cholesterol?

Really?

Because I looked it up for like 10 minutes and found tons of research on it and there are many studies that find evidence of it.

should have pointed out that any associated serum increases are to HDL... LDL (especially the small/dense particles) is reduced

anyway...
