Lebrada was also a King of Aesthetics 8)

and Paris had a great physique but his legs were too big for his upper body IMHO

so would you agree with my assesement of Labrada and Paris, Jamie?

Yeah, keep on preaching, keep on preaching.

Labrada was an intelligent bodybuilder and built a very balanced physique. Got a little bit lost due to the midget status. But great build.

Paris' legs were too big for his upperbody and i thought he lacked chest thickness, Paris reminds me of Chris Cormier, complete and good lines but lacks something.

I was right there wen they were filming that in Golds.  I've seen that clip a million times and always try to find myself but godam if I wasn't in the tent out back feeding my fucking face wen that particular clip was filmed.  I was standing a couple feet from Gary wen most of the filming was being done.  Phil Williams was there too, he seemed pretty quiet n was hanging out in the food tent out back, as well as Cameo Kneur sp? and Andreas Cahling n a bunch of others I can't recall.  If memory serves me right this was the day after the actual O.  They edited I guess to make it seem like he was posing before the show at Venice but in reality like I said it was after.  Maybe Gary can clear it up.  Anyway there was a tent in the back parking lot n they had a bunch of free catered food.  It was pretty cool.

I was there also, you can see me in the vid. At the time i was friends with Phil, we worked together at a gym in Stl a few months prior.

From what I remember, yes. Also saw Reggie Jackson, Shawn Ray, Chris Dickerson, and many others.

It was the day after the O. Golds was having a Grand Opening.

Following year, 1989, Labrada won the Olympia.

Unfortunately there was a terrible mistake, and the sandow was given to Haney

Labrada had a Very Balanced, polished Physique and all that, however as Jamie imo rightfully pointed out the guy (no disrespect intended)....just didnt have the "wow" factor and was very short etc etc, Great BBer just never really Olympia Material imo heres a few more from the show in Rami Italy that year

Reggie was a regular back in the day.  He had tremendously large forearms for a ball player...for anyone for that matter.

who do you think was the most aesthetic back then?

i'd say DeMay
Funny story bout Demay.  He would go from his incredibly unbelievable build to the softest tub of fat farmer looking piece of shit in no time flat.  Like someone deflated him and then filled him up with estrogen. The other guy that I would see do this was Ali Malla.  Most of u won't even know who the fuck that is prolly.

Ali and his orange van. He got that van in the 90-91 I recall, so a little after the video.

Excellent shoulders and back on Malla. Trained with Jeep a bit in the mid-90's.

This was the best era ever for me.

Great to see this vid.
I remember in those days there was no internet and you had to wait months to find out who won.

Did Phil Williams ever say why he didn't compete in the '88 Olympia? He should have done it after winning the Chicago Pro show that year.

Paris' elbows were too pointy too...

Problem with paris was like cormier, too perfect, too much flow and proportion, no freakiness
