Not to mention Ayn Rand follower Neal Peart looking thick and muscular as he delivers another Mind Boggling performance.

No.

I won't even say anything..I'll let Getbigs musicians handle this.

And he's good, but I don't see him making the top 20 of any serious list

You probably never saw them play or listened to an entire Rush album.

Can't stand Rush. They have some talented players for sure... but I just can't stand their music.
As to the OP.... It's really impossible to compare players from such different styles.

But for me, no. I'd take any of those players listed before Lifeson.

I bought "fly by night" when it came out, and bought every Rush record there was until the one after "moving pictures"...I think "permanent waves" is their best record...I was listening to rush before you were born.

It's art. Everyone's different. There's no way to be 'better' than someone else.

Rush is great party music with some old potheads but not even top 100 guitarist.  I took up guitar because of Jimmy Page but I sure as hell wouldn't consider him even near the top.  Sometimes what you enjoy to listen to does not make them the best.

There is no set and quantifiable criteria to determine someone as "the best".

Lifeson is a truly original player with incredible talent for shade and colouring and is in possession of a unique versatility.

Funny, Page was Alex's go-to guitar hero when he was a young hopeful. Desperately wanted to be him. And kinda was on the debut Rush effort. But soon enough his personality infected his playing core and other guitarists' influence also directed what he ultimately has become.
