It`s some european hierarchy carry over where the peasant worship their betters. Priest, nuns, police officers, politicians, and lawyers are easy to bring down to earth, but due to the legal clout you hold your worshiped. It`s actually pretty bizarre when you consider how often doctors totally fuck up. Yet they somehow remain authority figures. |
