you would not be paid nor get any pension under a free market aka simple freedom
people wouldn't pay it

if you doubt it think of all government money and rules for schools gone tomorrow, would you be able to sell your teaching ability as a small business?

now consider that cyclotrons and sky scrapers are built
production
you don't have to be a welder but you have to produce something
if everyone in usa was in the game and the gov got outa the way
there would be massive prosperity
bad stuff would go outa business and good would be unburdened to grow and flourish
good things would grow like beanstalks all around
much creativity would be unleashed and everyone would be better off
