WHY DONT POWERLIFTING CONTESTS USE POWER CAGES??
THEY COULD USE THEM FOR BENCH? SET THE PINS RIGHT BELOW THE CHEST TO AVOID DEATH WHEN BARBELL FALLS

I just watched this. They interrupted coverage on Hurricane Sandy to show this amazing feat of strength and discipline.

This is a good suggestion. Spotting can be sketchy sometimes.

there was more to that story as i recall. he didnt go to Doc when he should have, was not some immeadiate death. could have been prevented. good spotters are good. bad spotter are bad and need to be shot edit: good spotters are important with squats too. nothing worse than ass on ground and cant get it up will save your knees and back. ask JP Faux

He hasn't lifted yet, should be about 30-40 minutes or so until his 1st attempt.

Will this be as legitimate world record as that bounced 715?
Under what set of rules is he lifting? There are about 100 different ones and he can only own the record under 1 set of rules and the record can't extend to the other 99.
