"Do You Even Lift" - TV show concept.
« on: November 04, 2012, 12:31:59 PM »
They shuold have a show called 'do you even lift'?

They could disguise the show under the "Bodybuilding Expo" thing.  They have a groupee reporter hot chick interview these douchebags while they're wiating in line.  They all brag about being 225 and 4% body fat... how much they bench, etc..

THEN they walk in and BOOM, studio audience cheering for them.  hot chick host asks them to put on some board shorts, and then they do a body fat test, have them bench and squat for cash prizes.  Anyone who actually weighs within 5 pounds of what they claim will get $1000.  Anyone who can bench what they claim will win $1000.

"Do you even lift" would be great.  Appearances by Phil heath and others.  The crowd has to vote on "does he even lift".   The show would rock.

Who would be the judges on this show?

Ron Avidan, chaos, and yourself?

Ron would be a fine host.   Jay Cutler would be a host.  Then they could rotate in current and past greats, as well as a Jillian Michaels, etc.

And after a 177-pound twerp fails to move the 225 pounds once...

you can have a guy like Kai Greene come out and bench it 12 times, then throw it 15 feet for effect and breakdance just to rub it in.   That's be awesome.  He could ask the kid if he can even dance.

The possibilities are endless.

Sounds awesome, but it would have to be on the Internet. I don't think you could find a network willing to take the game. Would be great though.

Maybe they should have Steve Pulcinella as a host, he already has the "do you even lift" meme going.

The hot chick in line would act all naive and impressed by the line-waiting d-bags.   "Can I feel your arm" and "how much do you bench?"   Let the fool dig himself deeper and deeper.

Then, suddenly, BOOM the cameras come out and the chick pulls off her nerd glasses and she's the hot host... "Win BIG MONEY on DO YOU EVEN LIFT"...

years back before biggest loser etc i sent a show proprosal to all the networks proprosing a show where they get a bunch of skinny guys and put them under several different trainers. one bunch would do HIT training another volume another 5 by 5 another all free weights another all machines. after a year all doing different training and eating the same  we could compare strenth and size gains.. lou ferrigno would be one of the trainers for example.

This could be a good experiment, but would have to be conducted with identical twins doing different routines.  Also, both would have to be untrained and similar athletic backgrounds.

Squadfather would have to be involved.

As one of these weaklings struggles to bench 100 lbs, he could yell, "What a BEAST!!"

I'm thinking Jay Cutler could be a contestant these days.

Great idea!

They should have a Gordon Ramsay type bodybuilder who screams at them and insults them. Winner gets a stay at the Mirage with Bob Chic to get "insider" tricks of the trade

A reporter could go to the streets and ask people walking down the road who look to have a case of ILS(Imaginery Lat syndrome) if they lift. If they say yes, they have to prove it on game show type set up where they win money on the amount they Bench, Squat, Deadlift.
