Does anyone know of a private, for profit, emergency response company that is capable (has the funds, resources and man power) to respond to an event like Sandy of 9-11?

What would a privatized FEMA being doing right now in New York and New Jersey and who would be picking up the tab?  Would it be pay as you go?  Would they ask for your credit card # before they rescued you from the roof of you house ?  Would they come by with water and food like the ice cream man and you'd need to pay $5 for a 12 oz bottle of tap water

What would this thing look like

The answer is that they likely wouldn't do a worse job than a non-privatized FEMA has done as FEMA has done nothing whatsoever in NYC and much of the area (outside of Manhattan) is a disaster with FEMA nowhere to be seen.

I asked what it would look like, how would it be paid for and by whom?

No idea.....this is  a FEMA show. The Red Cross is there, there are non-profits doing things but to organize aid you need an HQ running things. FEMA has failed. When we invaded Iraq and had to build camps in Quwait. KBR slapped everything togther in days...shitters, chow halls, motor pools, offices, living quarters etc. Pay somebody who'll come in and get people where they need to be, move trucks, generators, water, fuel, food etc. This can all be done with NG help. This shit is not hard. They had a week to pre position eveything. Obama is being covered by the MSM on this and Libya...its a friggen disgrace.

Slapped together is right. And we saw US military personnel showering in contaminated & diseased water, living in substandard conditions, we saw raw sewage leaking down walls, They did a bang up job. And of course, rather than repair vehicles, they simply blew them up and bought new ones, ...on the tax payers dime.

I guess a private company could be a non-profit but I don't think that's the goal of a Republican vision of privitization.    Profit is usually their motive but since Romney refuses to answer any questions about it we really don't know if that's his goal or not (though given his business background I'm assuming for now that it is the motivation)
