My watch indicates that it is barely 8:00 p.m. back east. How do the polls close and the next minute the vote is counted? Actually a couple of minutes before 8:00 p.m.

yes, but if the line goes out the door, they don't stop taking votes until 10 pm or later, if people are still in line.

Plus, even with the electronic, it STILL takes another hour for the workers to post the numbers on the door, when NBC will get it from poll workers.

It's still a couple of hours plus before the polls close in Oregon.

Right at this moment I am calling folks to remind them to get their ballots in if they haven't already done so. The amazing thing is how many people say they voted until you question them about how they sent it in. Did anyone watch Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. He was interviewing people on the street who claimed they voted at the polls last night even though they weren't even open. People are so funny and such liars sometimes.

He's definitely doing a lot better than McCain did at least.

It's fascinating to watch MSNBC for 15 minutes, then FOX for 15 minutes.  back and forth.

FOX continually talking about the populat vote.   MSN continually addressing the electoral votes.

My *GUESS* is that since they know way more than we do about the numbers - romney is leading in popular, and with Mich/Penn, Obama probably has electoral vote?

You watching the RCP map? Its close as fuck in all the battleground states. Ohio looks like it may go for Obama though.

I don't look at popular vote because California is on the other side and the Southern States like Texas finish first
