It could be all of those. One thing is for sure, "somebody" has chosen dilution (quantity over quality) due to greed. More pro cards awarded means more entrants, more entrants means more money in "someone's" pockets.

It's pretty fair to say no one who won their class at nationals would even place top 5 at the world amateurs.

Speaking of men's World Amateurs, they were yesterday in Ecuador http://musclememory.com/show.php?c=World+Amateur+Championships+-+IFBB&y=2012From the USA, Jeff Beckham took 11th in the super heavies, James Shumpert took 12th in the bantamweight, and Mark Domme, Steve Scutti and Dustin DeMercurio did not place in their classes. the overall winner was Salaheddin Abufanas

The best BB in the show was the Hw winner Justin Compton. His back double bicep shot is unreal. He should be the overall winner.

It was much harder to turn pro in the 80's and 90's than today. Shit top 2 in each class got a pro card.

Brian was one of the best on the stage that evening. But yes, nothing like when Shawn Ray and others won their pro cards.

People wanted (younger kids) to be a bodybuilder....wayyy more genetic/talent pool to draw from(bodybuilding was insanely popular in the 80's/90's) ....Arnold/everyone wanted to look like he did in "predator, commando" etc .... now lol all the young kids want is abs (ala "Mike the situation" on jersey shore/or to be a MMA fighter") so what is left ain't so pretty (no diss on yerskey or whatever his name is/but he ain't no levrone/or flex wheeler) not even getting into all the "shows" on tv ("american muscle magazine/lee haneys animal kindom/coverage of the nationals by espn/mr olympia broadcast/corey everson/valente(rick?)....it was crazy bodybuilding was everywhere)

Paul Demayo beat Kevin at the Jr. Nationals that year and was 1 of the favorites coming in to that show and was definitely expecting to take the show, also won the best poser award and when they called him in 3rd he threw up his hand as if he was victorious and smiled away, that is what I call class, man people nowadays cry at their placings.
