Sorry to read of this. I read somewhere that he was born in the 1930's but lied about his age after escaping to USA. How does someone on dialysis die of kidney failure? I though the dialysis provided the same effect as kidneys. Do you have to pay for each dialysis session in the land of the free?

A true freak, probably the best genetics ever for Bbing (even Flex doesn't seem to me as being that gifted). Better than Arnold to me.

He competed for so many years. At his absolute peak I would put him up against anyone from any era. He wrote in an interview that at his best shape he was 253. That size with his tiny waist made him the Myth. He also always had a real job when he was competing. He worked long hours doing manual labor winning his Olympia titles then he became a cop. Don't forget as a teenager and early twenties he was a world class Olympic lifter. He was a real athlete. Damn guy was even shot at two different times in his life. Once through the arm in Cuba and once by his wife at point blank range in the stomach. You could make a movie about him with all the stuff he has been through.
May his family find peace. May Sergio find his reward.

Sucks
I wonder if he was getting the proper healthcare, as he was struggling financially
RIP
No, I'm sure the IFBB health care plan that Chick got for all the athletes kicked in and covered his expenses 100%

Life expectancy for men is 76 in both the USA and Cuba, and 65 years on average for anywhere in the world which includes shitholes like Swaziland (32 years wtf ). Those numbers include infant mortality too, so the average lifespan of people who live past infancy is longer. Basically what I'm saying is he died "young" for this day and age.

I think the average life expectancy on dialysis is only about five years. I know after five years the survival rate drops quite a bit.
