I agree that there is definite double taxation around the US... It's a shame.

I am perfectly understanding on some taxes... but to tax what has already been taxed just because you're now in possession of it from someone else who had it taxed on them before is just bullshit.

Yes and no.  

I'm ok with an inheritance tax on very large estates, say, in excess of $10 million.  That would encourage more distribution before death which, theoretically, should result in more cash being pumped back into the economy. :)
