That's not a very good way of looking at it. You were placed in a situation similar to other countries were the economy was in the shitter, you have recovered the best.

It's also not even accurate. Canada has had the best recovery of the lot.

Well it started here didn't it?   So its natural we would be the first to start to recover as well?  The apex of the housing bubble was in Stockton CA. And Stockton housing market guy bottom about 18 months ago and has been very slowly rising ever since.  First to get hit, first to start the recovery.  Also,  we have had some quantitative easing and a trillion worth of stimulus spending,  while the other countries seem to be buying the bullet and moving towards austerity.
