2 ways to answer this:

methinks repubs base voters care about this issue WAY MORE than dem base voters lol...

Obama has won POTUS twice.  He can answer reporters' Qs in gang signs and profanity and he's won 2 more POTUS elections than Mitt, Rubio and Rand combined.

also, obama said the same thing as rubio, but he did it using college-level words.  "I dont know, man!" was Rubiospeak.

sure, the context is slightly different, Obama never mentioned science but instead was asked to speak on biblical creation. Fundamentally true could mean that god created the earth how etc is the issue. Now, I take offense to his answer, it's stupid when the facts are known. We base a lot on gravitational spin, redshift etc and they all indicate how old the earth is. Cosmology rests on it.

This type of bullshit would seriously deter me from voting from him, however, the lack of mentioning science makes it a bit easier to swallow. If he had said it's a great mystery or science doesn't know, I would take more of an issue than I do.

Very disappointing.  Obama should know better and probably does but he has to appeal to the morons who think the Earth is 6000 years old.

Thanks.  Do you think he is stupid or his viewpoint is stupid?  Or both?

Umm it certainly shows a lack of critical thinking on his part. The rubio answer was more difficult to deal with because he mentioned science and is on a committee that has science in the name. That aside the ignorance of science has to end.

His viewpoint is not really stupid as he said fundamentally, I would like to know what he meant by that. Does he mean that god created everything, or that everything was created in seven days? If he took the stance that god created everything, then no he is not stupid, while I can't myself accept that, it's a possibility that I respect. However, if he suggested that god created everything in a fashion as the bible outlines, then both he and his viewpoint is stupid and flies in the face of all observable facts. They said the same thing essentially but with a few key differences.

the article was very misleading - it would have one think that the idea of a creator is essentially linked to man-made religious dogma, and that the idea of a creator and the idea of evolution/big bang are mutually exclusive. while there is much wisdom inside the various scriptures, the facts seem to indicate that they don't possess truth about the literal history of the world. on the other hand - the facts of the history of the world are nothing more than the observable chain of events, and not at all a statement on causality. the article says that scientists consider the origin or the universe to be settled - but no genuine scientist claims such a thing. the big bang theory is well established - but it has an end. it ends at a dense and hot state. where did the dense and hot state come from? why did it exist? for how long did it exist? what about the potentials that caused the existence to happen? how many universes existed before our universe existed? how many other universes exist outside the borders of our own? maybe our universe is in a sea of other universes, just like our galaxy is in a sea of other galaxies.  all in all, the amount of arrogance on this issue from both atheists and theists alike is just plain astounding. the only honest position is that of agnosticism - anyone claiming to possess knowledge on the issue is being false with themselves or false with others.

That's what atheism claims, that we don't know and there is no good reason to think it is a god. You claim that god exists, do you not?

Southern Democrats play the religion card.  It's best we keep our eyes on both parties.

A Year in Jail for Not Believing in God? How Kentucky is Persecuting Atheists
In Kentucky, a homeland security law requires the state’s citizens to acknowledge the security provided by the Almighty God--or risk 12 months in prison.

In Kentucky, a homeland security law requires the state’s citizens to acknowledge the security provided by the Almighty God--or risk 12 months in prison.  The law and its sponsor, state representative Tom Riner, have been the subject of controversy since the law first surfaced in 2006, yet the Kentucky state Supreme Court has refused to review its constitutionality, despite clearly violating the First Amendment’s separation of church and state.
