If you plan on buying at the end, or are thinking about it, don't lease.

If you're approaching it from the angle that you "don't want to lose money", then don't lease.  The only thing you'll get out of a lease is lost money.

was going to post what irongrip400 said - the whole point of a lease is so you don't have to deal with the car after three years.

Leasing a nice car is a good indication that you can't afford to buy a nice car, in which case you should rethink your decision.

For example would you rather piss away an extra $30k or so on this car or just get a Ford or whatever and pay for your child's college education instead?

I've been in automotive sales since 97, and every one of the above answers is inaccurate. If you know what elements of the deal to control you can make it work to your advantage. Personally I think long term ownership of a European car is a mistake, I would opt for a Lexus instead, but that's your business. What you need to take into consideration:
Your credit score
How many miles you need annually
How much money up front do you have budgeted
Do you have a trade?
What do you owe on the trade?
PM me and I'll help you get the best possible deal, or you can be like the other guys around here who know a lot about everything, then wind up buying tire and wheel protection policies and Simonizing.

Spend $1200 on a used Oldsmobile.

Then invest the $ you save in hookers and blow, and waste the rest.

A 2007 s550 for $27k has over 100,000 miles.

That's retarded on so many levels.

Leasing isn't a waste of money if you plan on keeping a car for 2-3 years.
Buying a car makes sense if you're gonna drive for minimum 5 years.

Btw...having a car is NOT AN INVESTMENT. Why do people think that is beyond me.
Investments are things that you make with end goal of making more money than you put in after a set period of time.

Hope this helps...

Btw check out sites like swapalese.com. Decent deals on there for people who want to get rid of leases & sometimes you don't need money down.

a car is an expense, not an investment...unless you have the money to buy exotic and rare cars cash on the barrel.

i don't care who you "know", the nicer the car the more you are going to pay to drive it....and not get your money back ever

like two people said....fuck European cars, expensive to repair. get a Lexus. I drive a GS 350 and i love it

Please do this and you will be like me...driving a 2012 Mercedes for the price of a Honda

Go to lease trader or those bullshit website where you switch leases...look for advertising near you city..the independent companies...call them ask ask for a quote on what you whant..what ever they give you in the quote.(.rememeber to tell them what you wont spend max wise)tell them that you have a better offer from someone from the website you founds his advertising....this is where you control your payment..what ever he offered you..lower it reasonably 100-300 dollars..tell him not to call you back if he can't match offer..that your going to get the other offer soon if he doesn't match..do with a serious voice...99 percent of the time they will budge in their commission and lower it to whatever you told him..watch out with closing costs adds he does..minimize those with the fake other offer..the extend you want to play with this guy is up to you..have him email you this offer...take this offer to your local Mercedes Benz..let the sales guy know that you want to do business now..you have an offer..you give it to him..let him know that if they are willing to beat the offer to call you..but not to waste your time..only serious ...

In the mean time budge with the other guy for time..

Take best offer

Lots of false information about leasing in this thread. I wonder how many of the people saying "leasing sucks" have actually leased a vehicle.
It is a smart way to maximize your dollar and to sidestep the steep depreciation of a car's first two years.

It depends on how much you enjoy driving a fast, responsive, yet comfortable feeling car.  The Germans are unexcelled in designing cars that are pleasureable to drive.

Mercedes, Porsche are expensive to drive even if you can buy one cheaply due to the maintenance/repair.  A Volkswagen Golf GTI with a six speed manual transmission will deliver 85-90 percent of the driving pleasure of a Mercedes or Porsche at a much lower lifetime cost.
