if only...

most stuff fought over and purchased on Black Friday is often broken, pawned, or forgotten about before the Rose Bowl gets played

It's really the only thing Americans have left as a society.  That and a massive war machine (no homo)

For those not in America, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving which is normally the biggest shopping day of the year.  People tend to go crazy and just spend money shopping.  The problem is that they shop even if they don't need it.

Now, many of these people wait the whole year for this weekend, to get the best deals.

Now, yes, there are some people who camp out to get the best deals, and there are some incredible deals, for the first 20-30 people in line.  I however, do my homework, and am patient, and buy a lot of stuff online, or at stores.  These deals can be good, if you are not particular into what you want.

For example, a 46" LCD television for $399.00 is a great price, considering some are averaging about $600 or so.  Yes, $200 does not sound like a lot but it is to some people.

Ipad 2. Normally $399.00.    Wal-Mart, if you go from 10-11 tomorrow evening, it is $399 - $75 gift card.  But, last night on Best Buy online, it went down to $339.00.  Boom, I bought one. My friend bought another.  Free shipping.  Saved $60.00.

For me, I just bought 3 32g Compact Flash Cards (the lowest I found before for these was $59.00).  Last night, they went down to $34 each. Boom, saved $45.

Now I am looking for a tv (I dont need one, I just am looking). But if I find the right one, like the Samsung 55" LED television for $799 (which is on Best Buy now), it sound good. Still, tonight, might head to Target to see what they have, and their surprise doorbuster deals just may have a 55" television for around that much, coupled with my 5% red card deal, and an additional 5% special deal.  That is $80 cheaper.

So yes, buying for Christmas, Hannukah and the holidays, you can save hundreds of dollars if done right!

ok thanks, here in sweden we do the same thing but after christmas... 34dollars for 32gb compac flashcard is cheap, hell i bought a 16gb here in sweden for my canon 5d2 for like 60bucks and it was on sale. What camera do you roll with now, a 5d3?

was considering buying another TV, but realized  I would rather pay an extra $30 for online deals than deal with degenerates across my city fighting for scraps. I saw a few pictures on facebook of the local mayhem and I would not be caught dead up around our mall area today/tomorrow.

Line cutters at black friday - I complained and had them regulated.  Line started moving.  In n out 1 hour new core i3 pc dual with 6g ram and funky laptop kinda pwoer supply round peg not the old school big rectangle pwoer of my old pc.

I will leave win8 for now although I could redo it with archlinux solaris or bsd, mostly since flash easier on win, and games like myth 2 and baldurs gate series.

I have a Canon 7D, and a Canon 40D.  A 5D3 looks good, but I need to get a new lens - and that is more expensive than the camera. That is coming soon... a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Zoom Lens.

Just good timing and waiting the whole year to get what you need! And yes, I bought a ton of stuff for the Holidays.  Including the Samsung 55" LED 1080p for $799.99, and another Ipad 2 for $330.  All online, without waiting in line. Thursday morning between 12am to 1am!

But, just because I wanted to check out the scene, I ventured out around 10pm to drive by the local Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and went into Target.  I kid you not, the local Walmart had over 1,000 people outside waiting.  The Best Buy had over 350 approx, and the Target (already open) was packed with people buying cheap televisions instead of being patient. Oh well..

ok 7d is great. i have a 50d and bought a used 5d2 a couple of months ago, great camera but i still use the 50d for speed. i am thinking about the new 24-70 ii but its so damn expencive so i bought a tamron 28-75 and going to buy a used 24-70 i and replace it. canons pricing is nuts nowadays
