Prefer Maker's Mark as a go to, but JD is always good.

Once a year, will buy Eagle Rare 17 yr, but the price has gone up substantially to almost $100 bottle, when it used to sit around $50

I like regular JD too, especially in a boiler maker (if the bar doesn't have irish whiskey)... but i agree, GJ is tasty and i buy it instead

I think most alcohol taste like garbage.

Seems like a lot of people like to drink straight liquor because it projects a certain image. What is the sense of taking a few sips of stuff that taste like garbage?

well i used to agree with you SF but if you drink that stuff often enough it begins to taste real good.

i always found that all strong liquor tasted like benzine.

only an infantile palate would assert such a foolish claim... straight liquor is an acquired adult taste... masking it with mixers defeats the purpose... why don't you just drown your broccoli in ketchup?

Seriously? I mean, people don't obviously drink liquor to quench their thirst. For me, I drink to quench my thirst, and while I like stuff that taste good, liquor is just so far removed from tasting good or quenching your thirst. Can't you just drink something else that taste good? Why liquor? Am I making sense? lol

I guess it depends what type you drink. Obviously higher end stuff may taste a lot better! I just never been a big fan of alcohol. And its not because I stick to a strict diet or anything. I just dont like the taste of it.
