A buddy of mine is a cop, said they got a call about a dude crashing into parked cars on the street. Dude hit 5-6 cars. They pull him over and said he literally fell out of the car. My buddy said the dude looked up at him with hollow eyes and let out a "fock you", he was from Boston. Anyway, they took him back to the precinct and he had a .53 BAC. And this dude was able to get into a car a try and drive. Shit is crazy. I don't smoke weed at all, but I'd much rather get on the road with someone who's been smoking than drinkin.

Did you watch the news report? He did two years of a six year sentence for this shit. He has done drug and alcohol programmes and carries on doing the same thing. Taking his license - assuming he even has one after the felonies - won't do shit. They've given him a bunch of breaks and he has even done time, nothing has worked. In Canada you can murder someone or an entire family and only get a few years...which a disgrace!! But in the US, your criminal justice system is worse then that!! Yes I was a former officer but you can't imprison someone for life because of a crime he could "potentially" commit....especially since our laws allow the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages. The punishment has to fit the crime and in this case, it certainly doesn't and it sets a bad precedent. Can you imagine people getting arrested for weapons procession and then getting the death penalty for "potentially shooting someone". Or maybe we can arrest a crack addict and sentence him for life for having the potential to traffic kilos of cocaine from Columbia
The offense he committed was drunk driving. He didn't potentially drunk drive. He did it repeatedly. I can't believe you were a cop. If you were you were they fired you for some reason. Letting a person who will get behind the wheel drunk with a weapon being the car is fatality waiting to happen.Using your logic if a guy gets drunk and repeatedly gets arrested for shooting out windows in houses he should not be dealt with harshly cause he didn't hurt anyone. We should wait until he hits someone in the house next time he gets drunk and starts shooting.

Funny thing is - it may well be that the guy was not drunk.Alcoholics (which he obviously is) can function quite normally on booze. In fact, they cannot function without it. It would be interesting to see a vid of this guy getting pulled and how coherent he was.If he goes cold turkey in prison, his sentence could be very short indeed if he is reliant on booze to function.Alcohol is quite the drug.
