It's become very chic over the past few years to end the movie without having an ending.
I hate that crap.
It's not "deep", it's annoying.

The thing is, sometimes I see a movie and I think the ending sucks, but I find myself discussing the movie and the sucky ending..and realize, it achieved it's purpose

Anton had to be one of the best movie villains in years. He was like Henry with a bad haircut.

The ending ties directly into the title and is pretty much what the whole book/movie is about

this is what happens when someone sits in a movie seat watches a movie and ASSUMES they know how it will end
just watch it
If it's been a book you may read it first if you want to

Ending was super shit indeed.
Like that Drive too.
Equivalent to scrambled eggs on toast, delicious until the final mouthful and you get a big piece of egg shell in your teeth (shell with white chicken shit on too).
I can only imagine the premiere, everyone going WTF? and the actors sinking in their chairs.

Sailing to Byzantium by W. B. Yeats
That is no country for old men. The young In one another's arms, birds in the trees —Those dying generations—at their song, The salmon-falls, the mackerel-crowded seas, Fish, flesh, or fowl, commend all summer long Whatever is begotten, born, and dies. Caught in that sensual music all neglect Monuments of unageing intellect.
An aged man is but a paltry thing, A tattered coat upon a stick, unless Soul clap its hands and sing, and louder sing For every tatter in its mortal dress, Nor is there singing school but studying Monuments of its own magnificence; And therefore I have sailed the seas and come To the holy city of Byzantium.
O sages standing in God's holy fire As in the gold mosaic of a wall, Come from the holy fire, perne in a gyre, And be the singing-masters of my soul. Consume my heart away; sick with desire And fastened to a dying animal It knows not what it is; and gather me Into the artifice of eternity.
Once out of nature I shall never take My bodily form from any natural thing, But such a form as Grecian goldsmiths make Of hammered gold and gold enamelling To keep a drowsy Emperor awake; Or set upon a golden bough to sing To lords and ladies of Byzantium Of what is past, or passing, or to come

I've seen it several times now. It's a very poignant film at times, especially the scene with the uncle in the trailer talking about putting a tourniquet on a mental wound before it keeps bleeding you out, etc etc. The ending frustrated me initially, but after seeing the whole film a few times, I finally appreciate it. He comes full circle as a human being, not just as a law enforcement officer. That's one of my all time favorite movies, and I'm old, so I've seen plenty

It was a realistic ending to the events of the movie. No major glorious outcome. Dude got killed in shootout. Main bad guy finishes off the chick then gets hit in random accident. Limps back to where he came from, everyone worse for their exchange.
Way more realistic than a John woo film with speedboats exploding and our wounded hero killing 40 bad guys with the same clip in the handgun.

Well after making Woody out to be megasmart who counts everything, the bad guy is just able to walk up behind him?
zzzz
Also why did the mexicans get the guy? Would he not also have been careful at the end as in the bginning? or do something since he knows they could be waiting for him?
WTF
Would been awesome if the good guy was in the office and killed abd guy after bad guy stomped in to kill the corporate guy.
That woulda been fukin sick
as it is its just a cop out
zzzzzz
did have great atmousphere in first half
When I rewatched it, I didnt get how the cop apprehended the bad guy???
