Fertility was worshiped at the time this sculpture was made because life was a lot tougher than nowadays, people surviving better than other, tougher people were admired -and still are somewhat-. This is why a fat, big boobed woman was viewed as "perfection" -more food, more "reserves" stored in fat, more chances of giving birth to a surviving offspring, better odds of survival-. It also meant she was able to feed herself better and more than others women = better odds of survival again.
Nowadays being fat is viewd as being lazy , not a positive trait. People are rich, have access to standardized comfort, so the rare, perfect woman or man is slim and toned, it means he/she isnt lazy and spends her his spare time perfectionning not only his mind but also body to be better at adaptating/surviving, than others. We are attracted naturally to what is strong, not what is weak. We care about weaker people only if we re weakened or if it serves a purpose in our own survival. Again, being strong and having better odds of survival than others is still what we re designed by nature and natural selection to worship subconsciously, but what means being strong nowadays = slim and toned, when it was being fat in the past.
