Looks like one big publicity stunt to me. Notice the woman doesn't look shocked and it looks like there might be a cut in the film around the 8 second mark. IMO the trick is that in a couple of weeks time he will re-appear in public with no burns to his face whatsoever. He is a David Blaine/Dynamo style prankster who relies heavily on camera tricks to make a living.
