VH was pretty much a Led Zep clone with an extra American feel and extra virtuosity. Less creativity and eclecticism, lower songwriting skills of course. First album is great (Little Dreamer is a great song). Second is ok but half of it is of no interest. "Fair Warining" is a really good one and underrated for that matter. I can do without everything else they recorded..

Not evn close to Zep clone...Ed's biggest influence was Clapton.Zeps explored all types of music and VH always stayed in hard rock/rock/blues.

No contradiction here. What I meant is that like a lot of American hard rock bands, VH´s style was heavily rooted in Zep 2 and mostly that album which defined a large pan of hard rock/ heavy metal to come. As I aid, Zep was much more creative and Zep 3/4, Houses and Physical (also Presence which is underrated) are way above anything VH achieved. But Eddie himself acknowledge many times his debt to Page (he even said the solo from heartbreaker was what gave hime the idea of Eruption) and to guys like Ronnie Montrose, Leslie West

No matter what y'all say...Tattoo is a great song, both the music and the lyrics. The singing is not what DLR used to be, that's too bad.....but it's still ok.

Sammy hagar is technically a far superior singer than DLR, he just is a dork, and writes bullshit lyrics. Not that Roth wrote beethoven's 9th, but he had flair

Yes. The 30-second opening is aces. If that doesn't get you going, nothing will.
