It's socialism for the rich. It needs to end but it won't. Big business is in bed with big government.

Rich people are against government handouts only when given to the poor.  They preach the gospel of free markets but half of these corporations would be dead in the water without government.  This goes for any person who started a small business with a loan from the government.  Small business loans from the government is a handout as far as I'm concerned.

I don't believe in subsidies for any businesses, via tax code, tax money or otherwise.

This nation has wasted a shit ton of capital on supporting businesses that don't need subsidies and businesses that can't compete without them.

Bad.

you want to add 78B taxes to oil companies

Maybe we should be exposed to the true cost of our energy consumption?

I personally think atomic is the way to go and the move to hydrogen fuel cells with hydrogen supplies created with atomic power and seawater.

i think its insane to make energy more expensive

oil companies do great job creating great product that all of us benefit greatly from and the deficit spending by obama dems and fed caused prices to goto 5 from 1.5

I say we do opposite.

end all taxes on energy and end all penalties to production

Depends on two things.   Whether you believe its the governments job to forcibly prevent damage to the environment and whethe you think the burning of fossil fuels is damaging the environment.  If you answer no to either one of those then the tax breaks are probably good.

Does the government have the responsibility to prevent an environmental catastrophe caused by the actions of individuals and whose ill effects will infringe upon the prosperity of others?

It has the responsibility to enforce reasonable environmental laws, and to hold the people who break those laws accountable.

reasonable is a pretty ambiguous term.  How you and I define reasonable can vary greatly.

So your assuming the profits of the oil companies and the auto companies are the same?  One has un believable profits and is doing fine...the other almost collapsed and would have put a million workers out of work (Had it not been for the subsidy)

This is like giving 100 dollars to the billionaire vs someone in actual need.

Do you actually need someone to explain the difference to you?Huh  Sarah palin moment I guess???

furthermore.  exactly which subsidies do you have a problem with?

just like when people say "tax cuts for the rich"; i don't let them get away with that without explainnig the specific tax cuts that they have a problem with.

so i ask you.  which subsidies do you have a problem with?  or did you just read an article that dripped with liberal bias and blindly choose to agree with it because well, that's all you do?  fucking lemming.
