The problem I see is that states are in violation of federal law. It doesn't set a good precedent for the states to be able to effectively ignore federal laws because their citizens don't like them. The Federal government needs to just leave it up to the states like they should have in the 1st place... but they won't. They'll make an example of people, showing that you don't fuck with the Fed.
