I read the initial story. Guy was frozen when he hit, and the 'splat' radius was, like, 100'. People in the neighbourhood thought a bomb hit the ground.      :-X

Its not that uncommon, there is a picture (black and white) of a guy that you can see falling off an 747 while it takes off, the guy (also african) tried to hang on for dear life - most die actually due to the cold of course.
