This makes no sense. Now because crazy people go and walk into public places and kill people EVERYONE should lose their right to own a gun.
No, the only solution (and it's not going to happen) would be for everybody and I mean everybody to hand in their guns and for them to be tightly controlled - like they are in other countries. People only feel threatened in the US because every other cnut has a gun. It's not an issue, here in Australia - I don't have to worry about other people having guns because few people do.
But at this stage, that's a ridiculous notion and reality is that a massacre every now and again is just par for the course. Suck it up. This is a consequence of people getting what they wanted. You want the right to bear arms. So does the guy who doesn't quite understand the value of a human being's life. You don't know this, but there are a lot of him around and they're really quite normal - they just don't fully grasp a few aspects of life and if things go wrong for them, they might express that quite viscerally.
But even if our amoral friend can't get a gun - that guy has a bit of a psychopathic brother and guess what, he doesn't really store his guns very carefully. People who have no driving license still seem to be able to get behind the wheel.
All this stuff is like grains of sand falling through your fingers. You can't stop everything. People will be run over on the road. People will die if there is enough of something dangerous around.
It's sad, but it's not really anybodies fault - it's just something that was ingrained in the culture and I don't think there is any way to cure it. Too late.
