I stay pretty lean all year. Not big into sweets but love salt. Always have. Blood pressure has always been normal to low. Just keep an eye on blood pressure. If your the type that has bp issues limit salt intake for sure

i dont own salt shakers, haven't owned them in 20 years.

I know i get salt on my food when i eat out, when prepared, but i dont miss it, dont notice it.   Salting foods would seem WAY too salty to me at this point.  I dont like salty things in my mouth.  bodybuilding related.

one of the reason salt hurts u is hypertension. It's bad for the kidneys and too much pressure over time even slightly high like 140/90 or some say slightly lower, the numbers fluctuate depending on which blood pressure pill company study u look at, read between the lines, well anyway even bp that's not out of control damages the lining of your arteries and this damage is patched up by your body with calcium. Kinda like patching it with concrete. Too much patching over time leads to decreased elasticity of vessels, calcium or more commonly known as plaque build up, which leads to increased bp because the blood has to flow thru a thinner pipe, the added chance of heart attacks due to decreased blood flow and also the chance of plaque busting off n causing a stroke. But if ur bp I low even w salt then I think don't worry.

It's simple fat people go by the scale and eating sodium will show higher numbers on the scale and that is why they dread sodium, bunch of dummies :(  It isn't fat they are putting on it is only water and also beneficial into keeping a faster metabolism.

Yes this seems to be something that is largely a concern of the fats.

I notice a major improvement in flavor from a good quality sea salt vs table salt.

I realized that once u get under %10 bf u can enjoy some foods 1-2 times a week and still stay at the same bf level if u continue ur diet and lifting... salt or sugar doesn't make any difference but if u want to compete u have to diet very hard.

I agree silk.

I was relatively lean (sub 12% BF) and my blood pressure was 145/95, so it's not just a fat guy disease. Not good. I cut out salt like crazy, started supplementing with potassium, and bang - back under 120/80.

If you're doing things that raise BP (certain "supplements"), then you really need to watch your salt. High chronic blood pressure really grinds the kidneys into dust.
