Sure, but the gun violence rate is quite high in the states compared to places with gun control. If one of your chief arguments are to prevent a dictatorship the likes of Hitler then I think you stand on shaky ground. Nothing wrong with guns, it's a quite obvious though that the current policies need to be more stringent. The problem isn't the guns, I see both sides, nor really the type (assault rifles need some serious policies) but proper checks in place to keep retards from obtaining them. It seems like it is pretty easy to obtain a gun.

That's the point of the article, it didn't happen over night.  It starts with one law, and then keeps creeping until it has gone so far past what the original law was thought to do/protect.  There is a huge difference between boycotting a Jewish clothing store and gassing them to death, but one was caused when the other started.  I'm not some right wing conspiracy nut, just a dude that can look at something objectively and see where it COULD go if not steered in the right direction.
