Mitt didn't even want to win the election
« on: December 24, 2012, 06:24:41 AM »
Just like I always said... he only ran probably because Anne nagged him into it.  Just think of the fun and comedic value we would have had if Mitt wasn't in the primaries and we ended up with Cain or Bachmann or Santorum.

------------------------------------------

Tagg Romney said his father "wanted to be president less than anyone I've met in my life," according to the Boston Globe.

“He had no desire,” the eldest Romney son said. “If he could have found someone else to take his place ... he would have been ecstatic to step aside. He is a very private person who loves his family deeply and wants to be with them, but he has deep faith in God and he loves his country, but he doesn’t love the attention."

Tagg Romney told the paper that his father was resistant to running because of his unsuccessful 2008 bid for president.

hahahaha

such a fucking sore loser, so he spent all that money, roughly 8.9 million of it government money and all that stress and time because he didn't want to? lololo.

sounds like a fucking sore loser to me. This guy is a fucking silver spoon baby, he doesn't write a concession speech cause he is use to getting his way, then loses and claims he didn't want to win. He is a hollow, vain man... and anyone who voted for this loser should be ashamed.

this is like him being at an auction and betting the price up and going back and forth then when he loses saying he didn't want it. Sad man.

I suppose a son knows his dad, but I would suspect it was only this way in the beginning.  After a period of time, I would think Mitt wanted it.

Campaigning is hell, I just can't see him staying if he didn't really want it.

He don't need to save face.  He's successful enough.

If this is true (and I assume it is unless Tagg is a big a liar as his father) then Mitt is an even bigger asshole that I had originally thought (and Tagg isn't far behind)

Putting your ideology aside, if you're running for what is possibly the hardest job on the planet don't you at least owe it to your fellow Americans to actually want the job

Just when I thought I couldn't think any less of Romney I find out he's even more hollow that I had originally thought

The best the GOP could put forth is someone that didn't even want the job.

Classic.

Yeah pretty weird to run twice and use a shitload of money if you dont want to be president.

Maybe he did it to screw the GOP.

I agree with this.  He didn't need the money or the stress of the job.  He has already been one of the most successful businessmen in American in many years.  Could definitely see him being reluctant to run, initially.

he spent the last 20 years building a political resume just to be president.   he wanted that shit way more than anyone else in the race.

he'd been running since he was a kid... remember his dad telling him "make your fortune THEN get into politics"

he wanted it.   he was heartbroken that the repub/right polls were all so skewed.

I believe this too

Tagg is just showing the pettyness and lying run in the family

Tagg is now saying he begged his father to run and previously he has said he asked his father not to run

what I can't figure out is why Tagg (or Mitt) would think this new lie would make him a more sympathetic figure rather than just that much more of a pathetic liar

so in the end, mitt can claim this as a win.

it would have been the feather in the cap of his amazing life story.

how it a win to claim you never wanted the job you pretended to want

don't you at least owe it to the people you are trying to get to vote for you that you actually want the job

this was nothing more than a FUCK YOU to all his voters, donors, volunteers etc..

btw - It's also a FUCK YOU to everyone on this board that supported, donated or voted for Romney
