Lets let Australia lead the way in banning tubs. That is if they really are serious about saving significant numbers of children

I think the idea is to lower the rate
and increase the rate of other forms of attacks?

that seems like an idiotic thought process, how about we address the actual problem to help lower the over all rate of sociopaths going off?

That is unless you believe that guns are what are causing these ppl to lose it?

While banning bathtubs is probably a bad, examing whether changes to bathtubs could prevent those deaths isn't a bad idea. That aside this argument is a bit of a red herring: as Straw Man said a bathtub wielding assailant can't really do too much damage when compared to someone wielding, say, double Desert Eagles, videogame style. So the comparison is kind of silly.

As  lawyer, I expect more and better from you. Where's your rapier wit, your well-honed and quick mind and your ability to formulate and express cogent and powerful arguments?

I thought if the issue as the saving of lives in the aggregate this was quite compelling.

Seems completely pointless to compare ACCIDENTAL DEATH to HOMICIDE.  One isn't deliberate, the other is!  Also the CDC study bundled bathtubs, hot tubs and spas, the figures regarding bathtubs isn't recorded.  The danger that hot-tubs and spas present, is far greater than a bathtub.  Hot-tubs and spas, hold more water, are generally deeper and are often never empty and a child can easily fall into one and drown.  Also as many as 70 percent of all adult drownings in tubs involved consumption of alcohol.  Some experts warn there could be darker explanations for many tub deaths.  Andrea Zaferes, vice president of Lifeguard Systems Inc. and a homicidal drowning investigation instructor, said police miss many homicides in which water is used as a weapon. "Our estimation is that about 20 percent of the drownings are homicides.   In America their are about 335 fatalities related to bathtubs, hot tubs and spas each year, in that same amount of time their are over 30,000 fatalities related to Guns.

Let's be fair. Legal arguments need not be limited to prima facie quality material , all information in Any way related can be used to help support a position, even if the information NY itself proves absolutely nothing

Either one wants to save lives or not. Statistically more kids die in bathtubs than from guns. Why would you be against banning tubs? You will save more kids.
