an audi rs6 with eu upgrade would walk these turds from launch all the way until it leaves them in the dust on the autobahn where the american pos cars rear axles would melt due to overheating and explode into a 1000 parts.

and the audi rs6 is a family grocery getter.

and not to mention any showroom stock literbike would annihilate these cars, ppl would wonder if thats even the same race happening.

the GT500 has a solid rear axle...guaranteed the Audi's AWD system would go before the Ford's.
The Ford could do burn outs, and drag all day, until it has no tires. The Audi---no

A guy at my gym has a 2010-2011 GT500, the thing is boss. But he is old skool. And there was this older guy near my parents who parked his ZL1 in a handicap space---he had a handicap sticker in his car! Kinda shows you the demographics of who buys these vehicles.

well yeah depends, on a dragstrip with slicks and sticky pavement, yeah, the awd isnt so good for that.

doing 155mph on autobahn, that ford rear axle would be toast quickly.

all relative :D
it tops out at 200, and they used the 'Ring and the autobahn for testing.

What are you talking about dude? The rear axle is going to be toast from what? It's a helluva lot harder for a differential launching on sticky tires than it is driving down the road at a high MPH.

Exactly.  The forces put on axle from a launch are much, much, much greater than just cruising down the road at 100 plus MPH.

well, then talk to a honest mechanic who knows for sure, we have an autobahn here and traveling at 150mph for hours is normal, very good friend owns an us car sales and import place, he would know.he tries them out there and blew a couple rear ends.

this dont happen with german cars.

but we dont have dragstrips here, thats why i say its all relative

you are not going to blow a solid tranny from doing miles and miles on the autobahn. If that were true, then all those cars from the 60s, would have had blown trannys from doing miles and miles on the highways.
I had an uncle who drove his 66 Pontiac from 1966-2005, as a daily driver, and went all thru the US, not one blown tranny.
Also, just cruising at 100-155 mph, Shockwave said, is not that much wear as launching over and over again at the drag strip.

That mechanic may have had Imported Ford cars from Europe, like the Mondeo and others which utilize a independent rear suspension. Because, I sincerely doubt, that your mechanic would  see a mustang imported in.

It seems that the only thing the ZL1 wins is magazine reviews.  Consider the aftermarket, however.....owners of these vehicles often modify them......not very difficult to have these cars get +700 RWHP.  I believe the GT500 has that very option straight from the factory.

The European vehicles may have nicer interiors and materials with a bit more technology, but you are going to be paying about $50,000 more at least for a slightly faster and slightly nicer(depending on personal preferance) for them.

Again, different markets....People in the market for a 393 SRT8, GT500, ZL1, etc..are not going to be cross-shopping them with an AMG, M3, M5, RS6, etc and vice versa.

European car owners for the most part are a bunch of snob douchebags!

It's like bbing, the midget person gets picked on when young then takes a bunch of drugs and becomes a bigger midget with all the insecurities still in tact like a Wong Hong or branch, Dave Henry, lee priest, list goes on...  :D

Audis of the 80s had very strong drivetrain.

I'd prefer the ZL1 over the GT500 but I'd prefer the Boss 302 (with Laguna Seca package) to the ZL1.
