Anyone who doesn't see the issues that Obama has as POTUS is certainly living in denial.

I love obama ...good guy..not the best president but an amazing personality...

The latest fiscal deal showed and proved the true weakness of the Democratic Party..essentially their flaws are coming out...the Democratic Party 2 sides in themselves..a hardcore liberal to a hard working person who is business oriented but wants everyone to get help....the latest fiscal cliff deal was a disaster..Obama in my view leans more to the business savvy democratic ..defintly not like the corporate American hating hippies..the tax rates jumped for the "rich"..by 3 percentages points...the hard core message played in the election "tax the rich" and save the middle class failed miserably with the power of the house...the middle class will get the biggest take hike of all..the payroll tax cut will take a lot of money out of middle class Americans with the added investment taxi which they can't afford ..rich people can afford this...no new tax breaks enacted..every disappointed

the 2 party system has been a failure for years...

there are at least 6 real parties in power right now

a complete overhaul of the failed United States is in order... trash the electoral college, eliminate the current house/senate structure

alter it to mirror the representative democracies which work so well in countries like canada

give us a call

we can help

LOL! Oh that is just so damned mean, ...especially considering the things Harper has done in the past few years, and the ON education minister in the past few days. Still it would be an improvement. lol

Electing the most powerful person of the free world comes down to 2 choices.  Choosing Miss America comes down to 50 choices.  Go figure.

I wouldn't even go that far. Honestly I'd suggest that it's different but most importantly that it provides a better voice for the people.

But corporate influence is still an issue.

The big difference is that despite corporate influence, politicians will a least beat a hasty retreat when it's clear the majority of the public are against their actions or proposals (hence the ironic and contradictory actions of ON's education minister) but in the USA, it seems to be a case of "This is what we want, and by golly come hell or high water, we're going to go this route regardless of what the public wants." Picture poor widdle Georgey boy all alone with only Barney by his side.   Cry

Or maybe it's just a matter of politicians beating a hasty retreat only when they feel there is a chance the public will remember their actions in the next election. I've noticed, the closer the election, ...the hastier the retreat.  Undecided

absolutely... and it's obvious that the ON Liberals have gone off the deep end (obviously why McGuinty jumped ship) and they will undoubtedly be punished in the next provincial election... i think we'll be looking at an NDP majority but time will tell

Believe it or not, I simply could not bring myself to vote in the last provincial election. That was the 1st election I missed voting in in my entire adult life.
