Warning spoilers ahead
Interesting movie but I was expecting more. It wasnt AS creepy as most people described it as. The pagan diety was kinda goofy with that wwe kane mask thingy that was supposed to be his face. Ending sets up the Possible sequel for mr boogie. Some scenes were unneccessary like the dead kids who appeared unseen to ethan but not the audience. That made it a bit corny.
Another after movie moment was when i was discussing the movie with my creeped out girl. She rememebered that the daughter had asked the mother how to make the dads coffee somewhere in the beginning of the movie. At the end of the movie the coffee thqt ethan drank was drugged so the lil brat had been getting ready all that time.
My question is how did the kids or at least the daughter get exposed to mr boogies pic? Ethan and his wife insisted on not exposing their kids to ethans work. His office was locked..presumably. Only way she couldve seen it is if she had somehow gotten into his office and seen the printout of the movie still on his board.
Anybody else checked out the movie?

It was okay, but definitely seen better. It just seemed like it ended, meaning there was no build up to the ending. You are watching it and it just ends.

Overall I liked the film, agree with the previous points made but it was a decent horror film better than alot of the shit they put out and call horror.
It scared the shit out of our lass but women are fucking dumb.

I was hoping for a non-supernatural explanation. For awhile I thought each murder was being done by the family's kid with the convincing/ help of the grown missing child from the prior killing. But they fooled me and it turned out it was actually a magical boogyman all along.

How the fuck did the kids commit the murders in the first place? In the "extended" reel we see the little ginger girl coming behind the tree... so she hanged four members of her family up there and created an elaborate mechanism which would lift them when she finished hacking through that fucking heavy branch? LOL, how did the little girl saw through a tree branch many times her size? The guitarist from Slipknot must have bestowed her with supernatural abilities, LOL |

Yes insidious is a bit better, although still derivative. Everything has been done in the genre I think, there's not much room for invention. |
