Sharks kill an average of FOUR people per year. Consider that over a billion people have visited the beach at one or more several times in addition to all the people on watercraft, your chances of getting ran over by an ice cream truck are much greater than getting bit by a shark. More people are killed or injured by cows, for chrissakes.
It seems that more nations than not are not concerned about the welfare of animals, endangered species, and the future of our food supply. It makes me sick with rage that people can treat animals so callously and so inhumanely.
The Chinese are especially bad with their inane beliefs that certain body parts of rapidly disappearing animals are good for you. The Hindus in India believe the cow to be a sacred animal, but will let them wander city streets until they collapse of starvation. Poachers in Africa who hunt elephants for their tusks and rhinos for their horns(which is nothing but tightly compacted hair) should be skinned and hung upside in the hot sun as a deterrent to would-be poachers. And the millions of hunters here in the US wearing their bright orange clothes and high powered rifles can go to hell to........as if they are somehow a qualified shot to instantly put down a deer or a boar without the animal suffering any pain.
