Some Asians are a grey Alien hybrid mix. Grey aliens are computer like with next to no emotions.

They don't kill the sharks which is worse.  These fuckers trap them, bring them onto the ship, slice off the fins and throw the sharks back into the water.

Asians are just fucking cruel animals.

I take it the shark does eventually die?

Sharks kill an average of FOUR people per year.  Consider that over a billion people have visited the beach at one or more several times in addition to all the people on watercraft, your chances of getting ran over by an ice cream truck are much greater than getting bit by a shark.  More people are killed or injured by cows, for chrissakes.

It seems that more nations than not are not concerned about the welfare of animals, endangered species, and the future of our food supply.  It makes me sick with rage that people can treat animals so callously and so inhumanely.

The Chinese are especially bad with their inane beliefs that certain body parts of rapidly disappearing animals are good for you.  The Hindus in India believe the cow to be a sacred animal, but will let them wander city streets until they collapse of starvation.  Poachers in Africa who hunt elephants for their tusks and rhinos for their horns(which is nothing but tightly compacted hair) should be skinned and hung upside in the hot sun as a deterrent to would-be poachers.  And the millions of hunters here in the US wearing their bright orange clothes and high powered rifles can go to hell to........as if they are somehow a qualified shot to instantly put down a deer or a boar without the animal suffering any pain.

I had shark fin soup at my engagement party but when I learned that the rest of the shark was wasted, I opted not to have it at my wedding. I'm not a bleeding heart or anything, but it sure is fucking wasteful and overly cruel for fishermen to slice the fins and toss the fucked up shark back into the ocean.

There should be standards such as at least killing the shark. They should use the rest of it too. Normally Asians use every part of the animal but the lips and assholes. Just look at Vietnamese pho noodle soup. It's got everything in there right down to tendons, tripe and the broth is made from oxtail bones, etc. But this finning and dumping is bullshit. I hate to agree with the obsessed animal lover pussies, but this is too much.

Being a vegan is tough, no? Speak on this, if you don't mind. Is it tougher for you to build muscle on a vegan diet? Or do you get around it with better food pairings?

I am not a vegan.  I have no qualms about the slaughter of animals to harness their meat.  My problem is in with the way it is done.  The animal does not need to suffer and can live a healthy life until its time is at an end.  I purchase my pork and beef from a locally owned slaughter house where I get to actually see the condition of the animals before they are slaughtered.  I purchase my chicken and eggs from a place that raises only freerange chickens. I only purchase fish that was freshly caught and are not a part of a dwindling population(I do not eat snapper, dolphin, or "sea bass", among others).

My hunter statement was a bit strong.  If a particular animal is deemed to be "in season" or if it is a boar of the russian-hybrid variety, then I have no qualms in it being killed by a skilled hunter who is able to immediately kill the animal in one shot.

i had mentioned this in 8th grade to a PETA rep who came to talk to our class.
I called PETA hypocrites because they only want to help the "big eyed, cute and furry" animals and not the menacing ones.

Ha....
Yeah, you see, the more cutesy they are or, closer to humans (PETA will show monkeys having their neck broken) then the more they play on our sympathy. No one has sympathy for sinister looking sharks, especially ones that might kill and eat you. And no one really has sympathy for Grizzy bears, black bear yes, Grizzy no. Because Grizzlies will kill you. No one has sympathy for the millions of rattlesnakes killed in Texas roundups. So many are killed that what has happened is that the ones with quieter rattles survive, which makes them even more dangerous, because you can't hear them as well.

I tend to agree with that. No reason animals that will be culled for meat/milk/other should suffer in wealthier societies.

But I think we all know that when poverty strikes, animal rights will be among the first casualties.

That isn't true at all. PETA has spoken out against all kinds of fishing and also shark finning.

Haha some of you guys need to get out of the city more often. He's not eating the bottle-nosed type dolphins most of you are thinking of. Dolphin- also called mahi or mahi-mahi. Google it ;D

Also I think it is a cruel act to fin the sharks and dispose of the sharks so they drown and suffer. Shark is actually a decent fish to eat if prepared correctly, similar in flavor to a cobia.

I've got a lot of respect for sharks as I've spearfished alot and swam around a few. Several years ago I caught some footage of a legit 10 ft tiger shark eating a mature 50-60lb tarpon. It was surreal watching a perfect killing machine in action. I definitely thought twice about getting back into the water that day.
