I always thought these episodes were filmed years ago so they could not get in trouble for past illegal activities.

Totally fake. I watched one episode were they were filming the moonshiners, as well as filming the ATF agents looking for them. Trust me as a LE officer, I would tell the film crew if they didn't tell me were they are I'd throw them in jail.

they tried to film a show here called "methmakers". after being awake for two days the film crew had to sleep, they missed all the wild action.

I have seen Moonshiners a few times, such a bunch of stupid fucking rednecks. I don't mind reality shows like Duck Dynasty, at least it is somewhat funny. These shows are just horrible.

I saw the episode where the tall guy with sideburns was making an underground still under some type of music stage. I immediately assumed that is what Johnny Falcon looked like.
