German language films are fascinating...offering glimpses into the people...For instance:

1) Berliners/Prussians/Northern Germans look down on Austrians...they are considered drunken party animals...disparaging term...  "Schnürschuh"

2)Austrians look down on Berliners/Prussians/Northern germans, they consider them pompous assholes...the disparaging term Austrians have for them is "piefke"...

3)Berliners/Prussians/Northern germans look down on Bavarians as uncouth hillbillies..disparaging term..."bazi"

4) Bavarians look down on Berliners/Prussians/Northern Germans...disparaging term...Saupreiß.

Otto Waalkes explains Bavarians.

In their 1943 Titanic, the only smart guy on the entire ship is the German guy.  Good movie. Good FX.
