Yes I am interested in the whole idea that you can print actual mechanical equipment/parts etc. But I don't think I have ever even seen a 3D printer IRL.
There are some home models now but they only print up cheap plastic parts. Good for making your own little toys. It still costs a lot for the materials. All it really does is prints a layer, raises a little bit, prints a layer and so on.no different than if you cut an object into a million slices and used a paper printer and cut out each slice and glued them together.
