I'm saying guns in the hands of civilians are no match for the heavy weapons of the military

did you really not understand that was what I was saying

except this has been proven wrong time and time again...

its being proven wrong right now in the middle east, that is unless you think al queda is really dead ::)

did we not completely out gun the viet cong?

nazi's had far superior technology and weaponry in regards to the russians but they were able to fight them off with guns you could make in metal shop(LITERALLY YOU COULD MAKE THAT SHIT IN METAL SHOP!!!)

even if this was true, which its not...does that mean we should just roll over and surrender?

thats exactly what youre implying straw.

Do you feel we should still fight?

if you do, why would you want to limit the means to do so?

of they did...

LOL why didnt they think of that in iraq/afghanistan?

civilian casaulties...

you think all the ppl fighting the govt would wear uniforms and march together?

fuking idiot, this would be a guerilla warfare scenario. The govt wouldnt be able to tell friendlies from enemies.

how would they know who to bomb?

Ever heard of Tibet?
ever heard of vietnam, iraq, afghanistan, russia WW2, russian and afghanistan?

LOL so what youre saying is that it isnt a forgone conclusion which is what Im saying. So we can agree that under armed, under equiped forces do stand a fighting chance against better armed, better equiped opponents.

Im not saying that they will win only that they can win.

if you disagree not only are you a grade A jack ass but you know nothing of history.

Haha, what weapons did Tibetans have?

Hint: none.

Some of the dumbest comments I've read on here in a long time.

You miss the point.

The US has failed in so many places because they do not have the will of the Chinese to eradicate opposition.

The US goes to war without the will to do what is necessary to succeed. This is why the US fails everywhere it goes.

China doesn't give 2 shits and as I said - if you go back to the OP - of a Tianemen square protester - my point still stands. Give the Tianemen protesters guns and all you'd have is dead protestors because the Chinese just don't have the same ideals holding them back as the Americans.
