2014 Corvette C7 on Jay Leno's Garage
« on: January 25, 2013, 04:33:06 AM »
Here it is, close up, and more indepth. One thing, I think the vents should be body colored. It would give it a more polished look. And I also think the lower rear fascia and diffuser should be body colered as well.

Convergent evolution in terms of design? It was bound to happen.
Whereas if you look at the 550/575 Maranello an the C6 you see a resemblance due to the headlights and the intake, yet the 550 came out in 96ish. And the 1/2 Gen Viper with its NACA duct looked similar to the 550, from the front.

Or is this a type of parallel evolution, whereas two related cars (Corvette being a front engine car, and Ferrari having a line of Front Engine GT sports cars) all being design with certain packaging, headlight (C3 Corvette started its flip up headlights, and the Ferrari 365 started with its flip up head lights), that eventually it was inevitable that they were going to look similar. Yes, they were going with more "sexy" for the Corvette, but sice when is it that Ferrari and Euro cars can only do sexy?

that looks nice, but I hope the interior gets a good grade this time......the ZR1 has been criticized for having a cheap looking interior for a sports car well over $100,000.....

You are Kidding.  That's crazy for that car.  I think it is going to be a common street ride.  They really under valued it.

that is the estimate. Even still, they want gen x and y to be interested in this car, and money is what our generations are concern about. This is the "base" vette or trim level, aka Sting Ray. Many people on other forums are saying that they'd cross shop this with the next BMW M3. And there has always been a rivalry with the 911, which I think this car now can really say that it is truly a rival.

I think Leno pissed the guy off by saying it "looked European".
The answer is "yes".

Such a fail at 450HP. If you are making a Stink Ray at least give it more HP than a fucking Lexus or BMW M5 sedan.  Make it a beast, a road rocket.  Give it 600+HP.  Lame attempt with a lame engine

Looks good but for one thing and this is my opinion and personal taste.

The front headlights do not look "vette" at all.

The Corvette with 450hp will destroy an M5 because it is 1000lb lighter. For the price of an M5 radiator, the Vette can be modded to push 600hp.

the only Callaway Corvette that I think should be in a sentence with the C7, is the Callaway C7
