Still a great show, but there was wat too much cgi in the season 3 premier.  Fountains of fake blood everywhere. Starting to become a parody of itself.

How was season 2 compared to the first?I couldn't get in to it with the new Spartacus, he didn't have the charisma of the previous one (r.i.p)

It was hard but after the 3rd episode or so, you began to like him.  I hated because the final battle between he and Crixius (sp?) did not have an honest outcome.

Go youtube the behind the scenes, they film it all in a small warehouse or did the first and second series. Really way to much green screen and slow mo cams.  It was sad Andy Whitfield the original spartacus passed from cancer. The new guy is not to bad, just there are other character changes as well, well new actors like one of the brothers of the escaped brothers from season 1 to 2 was different.  I understand changing spartacus, reasons beyond their control, but cmon the other guy just write off, he wasnt a main character anyway.  Good series but drags ass at times,...
