I couldn't see bring a pet there to basically be a prisoner for 10  years.  You would be too practically speaking, but unlike you the pet has no use for tv or internet.  10 years... no outside, no chasing squirrels, no shitting on the neighbors lawn....

If there is no broad, gotta have a pet. You'd go mad from solitary confinement before the 10 years. You'd probably have a very unhealthy relationships with dogs though. :-\ :-X
